For Immediate Release May 24, 2022
Sparks, NV – USA Softball Nevada, a volunteer driven, not-for-profit organization, is seeking applicants for the position of Commissioner/CEO. This position becomes available following the retirement of Commissioner Tony Pehle after 21 years of service.
About the Position
The applicants for USA Softball of Nevada Commissioner should be individuals interested in serving as the Chief Executive Officer of a multi-faceted softball organization which serves adults, youth, seniors, and umpires. This position serves as a principal liaison between the Nevada association and the USA Softball National Office in Oklahoma City. In addition to the job duties listed in the attached job description, the Commissioner of USA Softball of Nevada will perform the following within their role:
• Lead the Board of Directors
• Manage Association’s finances
• Attend meetings/events
• Direct and work with volunteers of the program
While historically the Commissioner has been a volunteer position, the local association board may approve a monthly stipend to be allocated to the individual selected. While the stipend is not intended to be the individual’s sole source of income, the amount can justify some of the time spent working on the program. The stipend will be dependent on the individual selected and available funds.
Those interested in applying for the position of Commissioner for USA Softball Nevada should send resume and cover letter to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Resumes will be accepted until June 23, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
A selection committee appointed by the USA Softball of Nevada Board of Directors will review the documents submitted and select the most qualified applicants to attend an interview tentatively scheduled for the first week of August.
